Understanding Stimulant Use Disorder with Dr. Jon Peeples

May 31, 2023

Substance use disorders may seem common - especially in a post-Covid society, however what we have learned is that because not all substances are the same, approaches to tackling the problem can't be one-size-fits-all.

In this episode, we are joined by Jon Peeples, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Affect Therapeutics, where we discuss these disorders, their neurological effects, and what makes treating them unique.

Join us as we discuss:

  • The reason for making a distinction between stimulant use disorder and substance use disorder
  • The mental and physical components of a substance or stimulant use disorder
  • A doctor's perspective on harm reduction efforts and decriminalization
