CQL Narc-ID

Handheld 1064 nm Raman Analyzer

Presumptive ID of illicit narcotics at your fingertips

The handheld Rigaku CQL Narc-ID 1064 nm Raman analyzer provides presumptive identification of narcotics, precursor chemicals, and cutting agents - even in non-visible amounts. Designed for counter-narcotics agencies, law enforcement, crime laboratories, prison facilities, customs agencies, or public safety efforts, the CQL Narc-ID can have a direct impact on protecting communities from dangerous chemicals that currently pervade through the illicit drug supply market.

CQL Narc-ID Overview

Designed specifically for presumptive analysis of narcotics, the CQL Narc-ID handheld 1064 nm Raman analyzer has the ability to nondestructively identify unknown solids, liquids, powders, pastes, or gels - through translucent packaging.  This keeps the user safe from exposure to a harmful chemical, such as fentanyl. Users benefit from a smaller, focused, specialized library, specialized algorithms with an optimized result output, as well as the ability to easily create PDF reports for evidentiary needs.

Rigaku's 1064 nm Raman advantage

The advantage of utilizing a 1064 nm Raman laser excitation means fluorescence interference is reduced.  This is a common issue to older generation Raman devices when scanning dirty or mixed substances.  Users can expect a result every scan, in just minutes.

Recognized by SWGDRUG

The U.S. Scientific Working Group for the Analysis of Seized Drugs (SWGDRUG) recognizes Raman spectroscopy as a Category A analysis technique.  Category A techniques provide the highest level of selectivity through structural information.  When a Category A technique is utilized, at least one other technique (from Category A, B or C) shall be used to support the identification.

With the addition of QuickDetect Mode, users gain the benefit of utilizing automated colorimetrics for detecting non-visible substances.  This is considered a Category C technique by SWGDRUG, and provides the second, required analysis method.
