Our WDXRF systems enable fast and reliable elemental analysis of cement pastes, additives, fillers, aggregates and powdered concrete samples. Whether for composition control, recipe monitoring or the detection of potentially critical substances such as alkali, sulfur or chlorine, Rigaku offers the right solution. With pre-calibrated app packages such as OXIDE-FB PAK, up to 23 oxide components can be determined in a standardized and reproducible manner, ideal for routine use in the laboratory and in quality assurance.

In addition, our XRD systems provide in-depth insights into the mineralogical phase structure in concrete. The method allows the identification and quantification of hydrated cement phases (e.g. ettringite, portlandite), carbonation products (calcite) and reactive phases in the context of sulphate or alkali-silica reactions (ASR). The integration of Rietveld refinement allows phase fractions to be precisely quantified, a decisive advantage in durability investigations, damage analyses or condition assessments in existing concrete.
