TOPIQ | The Rigaku XtaLAB mini II: A Way to Publish Great Structures with a Simple and Affordable Benchtop X-ray Diffractometer
Presenter: Dr. Pierre LeMagueres
The Rigaku XtaLAB mini II is a very easy-to-use and affordable benchtop X-ray diffractometer that represents the perfect addition to any synthetic chemistry laboratory. Thanks to a small footprint and lightweight (100 kg), it fits on a desk or a table, and it requires virtually no maintenance.
Despite its simplicity and affordability, the XtaLAB mini II makes no compromise on the research-grade results it produces. To demonstrate it, we will perform a live analysis of an organic crystal of cytidine, using the Rigaku program CrysAlisPro for screening and data collection/processing and Olex2 software for structure solution and refinement. All steps will be covered, from crystal centering on the goniometer to running CheckCif on the final model and preparing necessary files for IUCr submission.
