Abstract of XRD training courses Amount for 180 days
Fundamentals of X-ray diffraction (PDF:204KB)

X-ray analysis is one of the key tools for analyzing all kinds of matter in non-destructive way - ranging from liquids to solids - and is essential for material characterization and quality control in research, engineering, and manufacturing. In this course, starting from what X-rays are, you will learn the crystal system, Miller index, the principle and application of the powder X-ray diffraction measurement, and how to configure and use general X-ray diffractometers (XRD).

Powder X-ray diffraction measurements (qualitative analysis) (PDF:228KB)

Powder XRD can readily measure powder and bulk samples when sample preparation and measurement conditions are properly setup. Analytical chemistry consists of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, techniques which focus on identifying components and elements and identifying a sample’s phase status. In this training course, you will learn the appropriate measurement conditions and analysis techniques for performing qualitative analysis using powder XRD.

Applications of Powder and Thin film X-ray diffraction (PDF:227KB)

Material science research covers a wide range of sample types, from powder and liquids to nanomaterials and thin films. Utilizing XRD techniques one can identify a material’s components, perform quantitative analysis, determine crystallite size and crystallinity, measure residual stress and preferred orientation in manufactured materials, and determine density and crystal quality for thin films. In this course, you will be introduced to the various sample evaluation methods using XRD.
