Rigaku 5K Fun Run at IUCr 2026

Race time: 7:00 AM

Location: Prince’s Island Park (698 Eau Claire Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 5N4, Canada)

Join fellow IUCr attendees for the Rigaku Fun Run—a long-standing conference tradition that brings the crystallography community together outside the lecture hall.

• No registration required.
• Please visit the Rigaku booth (#9) beforehand to complete a release form. If you can’t make it, the form will be available on the morning of the run.
• At 6:30 AM, we will meet outside the front doors of the Sheraton Suites Eau Claire hotel, 255 Barclay Parade SW (east side entrance).
• Run or walk at your own pace.
• Fun run T‑shirts are available for participants (while supplies last).
• Refreshments will be available after the race.

A tradition worth showing up for

The Rigaku Fun Run has a long history. You might have been to many of them, or this might be your first.

Fun facts:

• The first Fun Run T‑shirts date back to 1985.
• The Fun Run T-shirts are designed by Rigaku employees.
• Over nearly four decades, we have created 20+ unique designs, each tied to a technology, a place, and the people.

For many attendees, these shirts have become collectibles and markers of where they’ve been in their careers. Whether it will be your first or 20th, join us to add the 2026 Fun Run T-shirt to your collection.
