DSCvesta2

Differential Scanning Calorimeter

Industry-first self-diagnostic functionality
Unparalleled temperature range (-180°C to 725°C)

A differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) is a thermal analysis instrument that detects changes in the thermal energy generated within a sample when it is heated or cooled.

The Thermo plus EVO3 series DSCvesta2 is an innovative measurement device that appeals to a wide range of users, from beginners to experts. Emphasizing user-friendliness, its design exudes sophistication while delivering cutting-edge performance.

DSCvesta2 Overview

Equipped with the industry-first self-diagnostic functionality, vestaeye, it can detect and address potential issues early, even those previously undetectable without measurements. This ensures peace of mind in daily device usage. Furthermore, improved sensor reproducibility and a position-shift prevention mechanism guarantee accurate measurements.

The DSCvesta2 with automatic sample changer (ASC) allows for easy setup of measurement conditions in a single window, enabling up to 52 samples to be loaded and 1000 consecutive measurements to be conducted, making it effective for high-volume or unmanned testing over extended periods. It can be used concurrently with various cooling units and sample observation units, offering exceptional versatility. Additionally, its embossed design enhances mechanical strength and thermal stress resistance, emphasizing durability. It is also possible to add an ASC to your existing DSCvesta2.

Expanded measurement range

With the adoption of a new amplifier, the full-scale range has significantly increased from ±400 mW to ±1000 mW, accommodating samples with large changes in calorific value.

Wide temperature range and diverse cooling options

Four different cooling units can be selected depending on your measurement temperature range and measurement purpose. The user-friendly design allows for easy attachment and detachment of cooling units, making them interchangeable for various measurement scenarios.

◆ Refrigerated cooling: -95°C to 725°C
◆ LN₂ auto-filling cooling: -150°C to 725°C
◆ LN₂ direct cooling: -180°C to 725°C
◆ Circulator cooling: -10°C to 725°C

Industry-first self-diagnostic functionality "vestaeye"

The device conducts a comprehensive check of all self-diagnostic items upon startup and performs simplified checks during standby and measurement. This ensures that the device is in proper working order, providing daily confidence in its use

Expanded measurement temperature range

The measurement temperature range has significantly expanded compared to previous models, enabling measurements in a broader temperature range. Especially with the refrigerated cooling unit, you can perform continuous heating and cooling measurements from -95°C to 725°C without the need for liquid nitrogen replenishment.

Advanced temperature hold control

This allows for temperature holds without the need for preliminary measurements, eliminating overshoots and undershoots during holds.

Compatible with automatic sample changer

Connecting the automatic sample changer (ASC) enables continuous measurement of up to 52 samples and allows for 1000 consecutive measurements. It also accommodates tasks such as reference sample exchange and automatic calibration functions, ensuring high throughput. Additionally, contact with the atmosphere can be minimized by introducing a gas flow around the sample tray, making it effective for measuring highly hygroscopic powder samples

Human error prevention

The device prevents equipment issues caused by accidental overheating beyond the upper temperature limit of the sample pan material. It includes alert displays and warning lamp to indicate high-temperature conditions in the furnace body.

Multifunctional software

The measurement software offers various management functions, such as controlling mass flow controllers linked to temperature programs, setting cooling fan ON/OFF after measurement, transitioning to ECO mode (power-saving standby mode), shutting down the main unit after measurement, and automatically creating device usage history files.

In addition to basic analysis functions, the analysis software for DSCvesta2 /DSCvesta includes peak enhancement, nth-order baseline correction, noise reduction functions, and more, designed for effective analysis of minute peaks. The analysis software is license-free and can be installed on multiple PCs. It also features an automated analysis software that executes pre-configured calibration and analysis menus.

Use standard sample pans as-is

No need for specialized sample pans; you can utilize various standard sample pans, eliminating the need for dedicated pans for the automatic sample changer.

Diverse measurement modes

Choose from various measurement modes to suit your specific research needs, including interruptive measurements for high-priority samples during continuous measurements, single measurements for individual samples, and manual measurements for samples with time-dependent changes.

Selectable and configurable multiple references

Configure up to three reference pans, allowing you to select references on a per-sample basis. This flexibility is especially valuable for continuous measurements involving different types of pans.

Environmentally friendly ECO mode

The device features an ECO mode that reduces standby power consumption by stopping cooling fans and LCD displays at the end of measurements or during idle periods. This eco-friendly mode cuts unnecessary power usage and minimizes warm-up time by delivering only the essential power to the circuits, so recovery time can be shortened.

Safety-conscious protective cover

Enhance safety during measurements with a protective cover that can be attached to the ASC section and the electrical furnace body. This cover ensures safety by preventing access during measurements, ASC operation, or when the furnace is at high temperatures, reducing the risk of accidents such as burns or pinched fingers.

Automatic sample changer can be added later

You can easily enhance your device by adding the automatic sample changer later. It conveniently installs on the top surface of the device, requiring no additional installation space, making automated measurements hassle-free.
