Sample Observation DSCvesta
Sample observation DSC
Any sample changes during measurement can be observed as they happen. The analysis results and sample images can be studied together, leading to new insights.
The differential scanning calorimeter with visual sample observation capability allows real-time observation and recording of sample changes from room temperature up to 350°C, utilizing a built-in microscope unit. Connecting optional cooling units enables measurements from -70°C, facilitating image capture in temperature ranges below 0°C. This setup enables observation of changes in sample shape, color, and fluidity, aspects that are often challenging to measure with DSC alone.
Sample Observation DSCvesta Overview
Easy-to-install microscope
The microscope is easy to attach and detach, allowing it to be retracted while maintaining its adjusted position when not in use.
Various cooling options
Three different cooling units can be selected depending on your measurement temperature range and temperature control performance. This allows for the acquisition of observation images during measurements in temperature regions below 0°C
- Refrigerated cooling: -95°C to 350°C
- LN₂ auto-filling cooling: -150°C to 350°C
- Circulator cooling: -10°C to 350°C
Compact automatic sample changer
The automatic sample changer (ASC) holds up to 28 samples, 3 reference samples and allows for 1,000 consecutive measurements, ensuring high throughput.
Sample observation software
The thermal analysis measurement data and observation image data are correlated, enabling analysis operations with various functions provided in the analysis window of the measurement and analysis software. These functions include measurement length capabilities, displaying average RGB values for specified areas as color information, and other analytical operations.

Sample Observation DSCvesta Options
The following accessories are available for this product:
Safety cover for DSCvesta
Encloses the automatic sample changer and furnace to ensure safety during measurements.
Reflection prevention filter
Suppresses the reflection of the camera lighting during sample observation measurements of glossy or transparent samples
Gas Selector
Links to the measurement program and switches the gases flowing into the sample chamber.
Flow Meter
The flow meter controls the flow rate of the atmospheric gas (inert gas, air, etc.) supplied to the sample chamber.
2ch-FLOW COMPO Jr.
Enables gas flow, flow rate setting and switching of gases with precision specified in the measurement program. Gas types and full scale can be selected.
Sample Pan
Depending on the sample to be measured (especially if the sample is metal), it may melt the sample pan and damage the sample holder or other parts of the instrument.
Sample sealer / Sample crimper
A sample pan shaping tool with three functions: sample crimper, sample sealer, and high-pressure sample sealer.
