Image Processing Virtual Workshop
CT image analysis involves many different kinds of image processing. If you have been treating them as a "black box," and it's been bothering you, this workshop series is for you. You can download the sample images and try the hands-on exercises.
Processing Images Using ImageJ
You have probably applied some form of image processing to your CT data, such as denoising or smoothing, before. Have you ever wondered how it works or what is different between different denoising techniques? In this workshop, you will learn how these image-processing techniques work and how to choose the right one. We demonstrate some of the techniques using ImageJ. You can download the sample images and follow us through the process.
Refining Segmentation Using ImageJ
No matter how you process your CT data, you might see some islands and holes in the segmentation. How can we refine these segmentation results? In this workshop, you will learn about morphological operations and how they can be applied to refine segmentation results. We demonstrate some of the techniques using ImageJ. You can download the sample images and follow us through the process.
Demystifying Reconstruction Using ImageJ
Have you ever wondered how exactly CT images are reconstructed? In this workshop, you will learn how the filtered back-projection reconstruction works and see how it reconstructs some sample images. We use ImageJ to generate Radon transforms, sinograms, and reconstructed images. You can download the sample images and follow us through the process.
Image Processing Using Dragonfly
In this workshop, we use Dragonfly software by Object Research Systems and review more advanced image processing techniques. You will see the benefits and convenience of commercial software designed for CT image analysis. Objet Research Systems offers a free trial. As in the previous workshop episodes, you can download the sample images and follow us through the process.
