UG3 Universal Goniometer

UG3_orthoThe UG3 is our third-generation Universal Goniometer for XtaLAB Synergy X‑ray diffractometers, designed to meet the demands of modern crystallography without compromising accuracy or precision. It is the first goniometer engineered together with a motorized goniometer head, the IGH3, allowing for a slimmer profile and cable-free design.

Brighter X-ray sources and more sensitive detectors demand a goniometer that can keep up. That’s why the UG3 delivers a 25% increase in speed over its predecessor—while still utilizing stepper motor technology for exceptional accuracy and reproducible positioning.

Equipped with state-of-the-art position sensors, the UG3 always knows its exact position—even after a power outage—so you don’t need to worry about collisions. Additionally, a redesigned detector axis and optimized motor housings enable wider, more symmetrical scans, ensuring more efficient data collection.

IGH3

For even greater ease of use, the optional IGH3 motorized goniometer head is our first cable-free IGH and enables safer, hands-free sample centering.

It supports automatic centering using X-ray signal optimization, AI-powered optical sample recognition, or manual point-and-click methods. Unlike more common retrofit solutions, the IGH3 is designed specifically for, and with the UG3, resulting in a more compact profile that allows for wider scans and more efficient data collection.
