April 2026

Hi there,

A few ideas to support your work in the lab

What if you could get real time polymer insights without relying on synchrotron access? Or spot hidden defects in complex components without cutting them open?

More labs are moving advanced analysis closer to their daily workflows, reducing reliance on external facilities and shortening decision cycles. In this edition, we share practical ideas to help you work more efficiently, solve problems faster, and get more value from your X-ray analysis.

Warm regards,
The Rigaku Europe Team

What colours can tell you about your materials

A bright pigment might look simple, but every colour carries a chemical fingerprint.

With XRF, you can quickly uncover what is really inside paints and pigments. Even small traces of elements such as lead or chromium can reveal outdated or restricted formulations, while subtle changes in composition can explain differences in colour, performance, or durability.

Because XRF is non destructive and requires minimal sample preparation, you get fast and reliable results without altering the sample. This makes it ideal for routine quality control as well as for analysing valuable or sensitive materials.

The insight: Colour is not just appearance. It is information you can measure and use.

Accelerate Polymer Analysis with Time Resolved WAXS

Thursday, 23 April 2026 | 10:00 CEST

How can you observe structural changes in polymers as they happen without relying on synchrotron facilities?

In this session, you will see how laboratory based time resolved WAXS enables real-time analysis of crystallisation, phase transitions, and structural evolution, helping you better understand material behaviour during processing.

Who it is for: Polymer R&D, materials science, and advanced characterisation labs.

X-ray Computed Tomography for Materials and Life Science –

Part 12: Medical Devices & Healthcare Products

Wednesday, 29 April 2026 | 20:00 CEST (1:00 PM CDT)

When internal structures matter, cutting samples is often not enough.

This webinar shows how X-ray CT allows you to detect hidden defects such as voids and sink marks, inspect complex multi material components, and use 3D data to improve development and quality control processes.

Automation for High-Throughput XRD

High sample volumes and limited resources can slow down even well equipped laboratories.

Automating your XRD workflow with the ASL Auto Sample Loader helps you process more samples with less manual effort while maintaining consistent measurement quality. This is particularly useful in QA and QC environments where reliability and throughput are essential.

What this means for you: More samples processed in less time, with fewer errors and more time to focus on data interpretation.
