The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) partnered with Texas Against Fentanyl to raise awareness about fake pills during an event in Mission. Attendees discussed available support and resources. DPS has been patrolling the border under Operation Lone Star to combat human and drug smuggling, with fentanyl being a major concern. DPS Sgt. Guadalupe Casarez emphasized the importance of educating schools about fentanyl, as students are particularly vulnerable. Families affected by fentanyl poisoning also shared their experiences at the event.
