From teaching instrumental analysis to basic research
In addition to offering traditional state-of-the-art solutions for advanced or difficult applications, Rigaku uniquely provides products that are based on innovative technology coupled with creative packaging and educationally friendly design. Two of the biggest issues facing academia are insufficient laboratory space and difficult to use analytical software. Furthermore, colleges and universities have a need for affordable and reasonably scaled "research grade" instruments. Thus Rigaku has developed a line of "mini" X-ray products designed to allow our X-ray techniques to become a routine laboratory methods and teaching tools in the same way that NMR and FT-IR did more than a decade ago. More than thirty years ago, Rigaku invented the benchtop X-ray diffractometer with the introduction of the original Miniflex. Today, we are the only provider of a complete line of benchtop X-ray analytical products—providing affordable and easy-to-use solutions for small molecule single crystal diffraction, general purpose X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray fluorescence (XRF). New to Rigaku are also benchtop TXRF and SAXS instruments that are perfect university level research and teaching tools.
